Before BGovs: Kuschell started
coaching
baseball as a Graduate Assistant at the University of the Pacific in Stockton,
CA (1972), the University of Oregon (Fall 1976), and the University of Utah
(1977-1978). Kuschell started the first ever University of Utah summer team in
1977 that won Beehive League title. Kuschell managed/coached a summer collegiate
baseball team in the Bay Area from 1979 to 1986 and won two league titles.
Kuschell has cached youth baseball and high school softball along the way. He
coached two years of American Legion baseball and a few Summers of U-16 fast
pitch Softball. Kuschell coached pitchers and outfielders at Foothill High
School for eight years. In 2012 Foothill went 30-2 and was ranked #30 in the
final California High School Baseball poll. Kuschell has coached junior college
baseball in Minnesota (2015, 2017). In 2018 Kuschell was the pitching coach at
Ohio Christian University while taking the same position at Simpson University
in 2019. In the summer of 2017 Kuschell was an assistant coach for the Genese
Rapids of the NYCBL in Western NY. in 2020 he returned to Foothill HS to coach
the pitchers and the outfielders. Foothill was off to a 4-0 start, with 3
shutouts, a team ERA of 0.28 while scoring 34 runs with 1 run allowed. The team
was ranked #24 in the state of CA early March 2020 poll (probably the first,
last and only 2020 poll due to the COVID-19) and #115 in the nation. Kuschell
also helped coach a local California collegiate summer team in 2018 and 2019.
Kuschell played baseball at Riverside City College and San Jose State College.
In 2014 Kuschell retired from pharmacy after 42 years.
Kuschell earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from San Jose State College, Master of
Science degree in Health Science from the University of Utah and a Doctor of
Pharmacy degree from the University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA.

children that live in Pasadena, CA; Redding, CA and a daughter and granddaughter
who reside in Bismarck, ND. |
